The first of five Heritage Golf Championship events to take place in KwaZulu-Natal, in partnership with Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom, took place at Mount Edgecombe - The Woods and The Lakes on 23 March 2019, with the next event taking place on 6 July at the Beachwood Golf Club. These KZN regional events are part of a series of 22 Heritage Golf Championship events to take place in Gauteng and the North West Province.
The dates for the other KZN regional events are 10 August at Umhlali Golf Club; 31 August at Durban Country Club and 14 September at Mount Edgecombe - The Woods and The Lakes. The KZN Regional Final will also take place at Mount Edgecombe - The Woods and The Lakes on 15 September 2019. The winning pair from that event will go through to the National Final at Sun City on 24 September.
Presented by Sun International, the Heritage Golf Championship was established in 2016 and has become the fastest growing amateur golf championship in South Africa. The tournament, part of a Golf Club Membership Retention Programme, rewards around 3 500 golfers with R2 500 in gifts and vouchers for participating.
