Updates & Closures
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that the following closing dates may cause.
Access to Sun City Resort will continue to only be granted to Hotel and Sun Vacation Club residents, existing MVG members, guests with confirmed golf bookings and guests that have pre-purchased Valley of Waves Day Visitor Tickets.
Day Visitor tickets can be purchased on the day and are available from TicketPro. Limited tickets are available daily. Tickets cannot be purchased at the resort.
The Palace

Sun City Hotel, our beloved 45-year-old landmark, is embarking on an exciting 3-year refurbishment journey! Stay tuned for updates:
Phase 1: Completed in November 2024.
Phase 2: Completed in November 2025.
Phase 3: In progress until 31 August 2026
Refurbishment Notice: We’re upgrading our spaces to serve you better.
- Until 31 August 2026: Hotel room refurbishments will continue.
Maintenance:
- Sun City Hotel swimming pool will be temporarily closed from 13 July 2026 to 21 August 2026
Cabanas

Cascades
The Cascades Hotel pool is open
Valley of Waves
The Valley Of Waves has re-opened
Closures:
- Valley of Waves will be closed on 02 August 2026 due to the Family Fun Day event taking place at the venue and open on 03 August 2026.
- Valley of Waves will be closed on 03 and 04 December 2026 due to the NGC Function taking place at the venue and open on 05 December 2026.
Sun Central
As we head into the winter season, Sun Central outlets will be adjusted to the below trading times effective from 11 May 2026:
- Retail: 10h00 – 21h00
- Restaurants (Breakfast): 08h00 – 22h00
- Restaurants (Lunch): 12h00 – 22h00
Gary Player Country Club
The Gary Player Country Club Golf Course is closed every Monday for Maintenance.
Closures:
- Gatsby Salon, Spa, and Gym are temporarily closed due for maintenance and will open soon.
- The Gym has relocated to the Letsatsi Conference Centre at Sun City Hotel. Operating hours will be from 06h00 to 20h00 daily.
- Gary Player Country Club will be closed for hollowtining 24 – 28 August 2026
The Lost City Golf Course
The Lost City Golf Course is closed every Tuesday for maintenance.
Closures:
- The Lost City Country Club will be closed for hollowtining 07 – 11 September 2026
