SunFest – Ziyakhala Mo Sun City

The inaugural ZIYAKHALA MO SUN CITY FESTIVAL is an eclectic celebration of traditional music, culture, and fashion capturing the vibrant energy to the Resort throughout the week’s experience.

"Ziyakhala" is a South African slang term that roughly translates to "it's happening" or "the party's on". In a more playful sense, it indeed implies all kinds of fun, excitement, and celebration. “Mo” is a Setswana word meaning “here” …. We had to bring it home 😉

This is not just a festival, but a carefully curated experience designed to showcase the best of South African tradition and musical talent while offering attendees an immersive and luxurious getaway.

While spotlighting traditional maskandi music through artists like Mthandeni Sk & Sjava, the event proudly promotes authentic traditional South African music with artists like Ringo Madlingozi, King Monada, Cassper Nyovest and Dr Nothembi Mkhwebane for our first line-up release. This selection of musicians will allow South Africans from all cultures to experience our diverse musical offering as a country.

Ziyakhala Mo Sun City invites all festival-goers to showcase their unique traditional attire as we come together to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of South Africa.
