PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION RULES

Any person who is under 18 years, or who has been excluded, or who is self-excluded, or who falls into any category of excluded persons, is expressly prohibited from participating in the M is in Play promotional competition (“promotional competition”).

This promotional competition is exclusive to Sun MVG members, and is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents, or consultants of, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the company or marketing service providers, or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members. In addition, all persons who are precluded from participating in gambling activities as determined in the Sun International Employees, Suppliers, Service Providers and Concessionaires Gambling Policy may not participate in this promotional competition. The promotional competition is open to Sun MVG members of all card tiers.
Promotional period. The promotional competition runs from 07h00 on Saturday, 17 October 2026 until the final draw at each participating casino, being 22h00 on Friday, 11 December 2026 at Sibaya and Time Square, and 22h00 on Saturday, 12 December 2026 at GrandWest, Carnival City and Wild Coast Sun (the “promotional period”). Participants earn casino points during the promotional period by playing slots or tables whilst using their Sun MVG cards in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Sun MVG programme. The aforegoing dates commence and terminate in line with the gaming day of the casino, save where a specific time is stated in these rules.
Participating casinos and draw schedule. The promotional competition is run at the following Sun International casinos (each a “participating casino”). All draws take place at 22h00 on the dates below:
1. Sibaya (KwaZulu-Natal) – Midway draws: Fridays, 23 October, 13 November and 4 December 2026. Final draw: Friday, 11 December 2026.
2. Time Square (Gauteng) – Midway draws: Fridays, 23 October, 13 November and 4 December 2026. Final draw: Friday, 11 December 2026.
3. GrandWest (Western Cape) – Midway draws: Fridays, 23 October, 13 November and 4 December 2026. Final draw: Saturday, 12 December 2026.
4. Carnival City (Gauteng) – Midway draws: Saturdays, 24 October, 14 November and 5 December 2026. Final draw: Saturday, 12 December 2026.
5. Wild Coast Sun (Eastern Cape) – Midway draws: Saturdays, 24 October, 14 November and 5 December 2026. Final draw: Saturday, 12 December 2026.
6. Sun City is not a participating casino and does not host a leaderboard or draw for this promotional competition. Casino points earned at Sun City count only in the limited circumstances set out in rule 8.
Earning casino points.Casino points are earned by playing slots or tables across all gaming areas at a participating casino using a Sun MVG card. Casino points earned at a participating casino count only towards that participating casino’s leaderboards and draws, and are not transferred or added to any other participating casino (save for Sun City play as set out in rule 8). There is no combined group or national leaderboard.
Leaderboards (property level). Each participating casino runs its own leaderboards, as follows:
1. Each participating casino has a separate Slots leaderboard and a separate Tables leaderboard. The Slots leaderboard ranks participants on casino points earned on slots, and the Tables leaderboard ranks participants on casino points earned on tables, at that participating casino only.
2. Leaderboard points accumulate from 07h00 on Saturday, 17 October 2026. Leaderboards are cumulative and do not reset after a draw; the start date for each midway draw leaderboard and the final draw leaderboard remains 17 October 2026. In the event of a tie at the 300th position, the participant who is at the actual 300th position on the leaderboard will be included, and the tied participant at the actual 301st position will be excluded.
3. A participant qualifies for a draw at a participating casino only if he/she is ranked in the Top 300 on that participating casino’s Slots leaderboard or in the Top 150 on that participating casino’s Tables leaderboard (a “qualifying position”) at the leaderboard cut-off for that draw.
4. The leaderboard cut-off is 07h00 on the day of each draw at the relevant participating casino. A participant who does not hold a qualifying position at the cut-off will not qualify for that day’s draw, and his/her entry tickets will not be activated for that draw.
5. A participant may hold a position on the leaderboards of more than one participating casino, and on both the Slots and Tables leaderboards of the same participating casino, provided that he/she earns casino points at each such participating casino. A qualifying position at one participating casino does not qualify a participant for a draw at any other participating casino.
6. Casino points earned on Sundays are doubled for leaderboard ranking purposes (see rule 7.3). Sun City casino points do not count towards a leaderboard position (see rule 8).
7. Leaderboards will be displayed on screens at each participating casino and on suninternational.com, showing only the participant’s leaderboard position, Sun MVG number and points. No other personal information will be displayed. Displayed leaderboards are for information purposes only; the leaderboard as at the cut-off, as determined by the casino’s systems, is final.
Entry tickets. Entry tickets are earned as follows:
1. Every 50 casino points earned by a participant at a participating casino converts to one entry ticket into that participating casino’s draws, being the midway draws and the final draw. The number of entry tickets is not limited.
2. Entry tickets are valid for a draw only if the participant holds a qualifying position on the Slots or Tables leaderboard of that participating casino at the leaderboard cut-off for that draw. A participant may hold a qualifying position without holding an entry ticket if he/she has earned fewer than 50 casino points.
3. Double points Sundays: casino points earned at a participating casino on a Sunday during the promotional period (determined in line with the gaming day of the casino) will be doubled for purposes of calculating leaderboard positions and entry tickets. The doubling is a promotional calculation only, and no additional points will be credited to the participant’s Sun MVG account.
4. Although the Slots and Tables leaderboards are separate, all entry tickets earned by a qualifying participant at a participating casino are combined into one draw at that participating casino.
5. Entry tickets for each draw are calculated on casino points earned at that participating casino from 07h00 on 17 October 2026 up to the close of earning for that draw.
6. On the day of each draw, a participant who holds a qualifying position at the 07h00 cut-off may continue to earn entry tickets until 30 minutes before the draw (participant casinos except Carnival City - 21h30 ) (Carnival City - 21h45). Printing and activation of entry tickets closes 15 minutes before the draw ((participant casinos except Carnival City 21h45) (Carnival City 21h55).
Sun City play – Dominant Property. Casino points earned at Sun City during the following periods will be credited to the participant’s Dominant Property (as defined below) for the final draw only:
1. Black Pearl weekend: Thursday, 12 November to Sunday, 15 November 2026; and
2. Nedbank Golf Challenge (NGC) Week: Sunday, 29 November to Monday, 7 December 2026.
3. A participant’s “Dominant Property” is the participating casino at which he/she holds the highest casino points for the promotional period. If casino points are equal across multiple participating casinos, the Dominant Property will be determined by applying the following criteria in order: (a) the participant’s most frequently visited participating casino; (b) the highest number of visits during the promotional period; (c) the highest handle (Slots leaderboard) or highest drop (Tables leaderboard); and (d) the participating casino last played.
4. The Dominant Property will be determined once, on the morning of Friday, 11 December 2026, and will not be re-evaluated, and the Dominant Property leaderboard will be updated on 11 and 12 December 2026 respectively for the corresponding casino finales.
5. Sun City casino points will be converted to entry tickets at 50 casino points per entry ticket and added on the morning of 11 or 12 December 2026 (dependant on casino finale date) respectively to the participant’s entry tickets for the final draw at the corresponding Dominant Property only. They do not count towards any midway draw.
6. Sun City casino points do not count towards a leaderboard position. A participant will only benefit from Sun City casino points if he/she already holds a qualifying position on a leaderboard at the Dominant Property as at 07h00 on 11 or 12 December 2026 (dependant on casino finale date).
7. Sun City casino points are credited for purposes of this promotional competition only and are not moved between casinos on the Sun MVG system.
Midway draws. Each participating casino will hold three midway draws at 22h00 on the dates set out in rule 4. At each midway draw, ten cash prizes totalling R375 000 will be awarded as follows: 1st prize R100 000; 2nd prize R75 000; 3rd prize R50 000; 4th prize R40 000; 5th prize R30 000; 6th prize R25 000; 7th prize R20 000; 8th prize R15 000; 9th prize R10 000; and 10th prize R10 000 (R1 125 000 per participating casino across the three midway draws).
Final draw. Each participating casino will hold a final draw at 22h00 on the date set out in rule 4, at which ten (10) finalists will be selected as follows:
1. Automatic finalists: the participant with the highest casino points on the Slots leaderboard and the participant with the highest casino points on the Tables leaderboard of that participating casino, measured from 07h00 on 17 October 2026 to 07h00 on the day of that participating casino’s final draw (11 December 2026 for Sibaya and Time Square; 12 December 2026 for GrandWest, Carnival City and Wild Coast Sun), will each automatically qualify for a seat in the final draw.
2. The remaining eight (8) finalists will be selected by random draw from the valid entry tickets of qualifying participants at that participating casino.
3. Prizes: the 1st prize is a BMW M5 motor vehicle (as advertised), and cash prizes totalling R380 000 will be awarded as follows: 2nd prize R100 000; 3rd prize R75 000; 4th prize R50 000; 5th prize R40 000; 6th prize R30 000; 7th prize R25 000; and 8th, 9th and 10th prizes R20 000 each.
4. Each participating casino awards its own vehicle. The vehicle make, model and specification may differ between participating casinos and will be as advertised by the relevant participating casino. Participants may enquire about the vehicle make, model and specifications from the casino concerned.
Privé Power Winners launch. On Saturday, 17 October 2026, between 19h00 and 23h00, each participating casino will run a Privé Power Winners launch, subject to the following:
1. Sun MVG members must actively play slots and/or tables in the Privé of the participating casino during this time to be eligible.
2. XtraPlay prizes to the value of R200 000 (Slots) and R100 000 (Tables) will be awarded at each participating casino, in individual prize values of R5 000, R10 000 or R20 000.
3. Slots XtraPlay prizes will be credited directly to the winner’s Sun MVG card, and Tables prizes will be awarded in non-negotiable chips.
4. The method of selecting Privé Power Winners prize winners will be as advertised by the relevant participating casino.
Entries cannot be purchased for cash, points or through any other form of consideration. The number of valid entries is not limited.
Where applicable, the images of the prize(s) used in advertisements or displays may not necessarily be the actual prize(s), model(s) or specification(s) issued as prizes. The relevant information may be sought from the casino.
Prize winners will be selected by way of random draw. A participant may win only one prize per draw day at any participating casino. To be eligible for the prize, the participants who are present for the draw must present themselves to the promotional jockey within 120 seconds of their names being drawn, and they must comply with the respective casino’s identification and verification requirements by producing the corresponding winning ticket (printed or electronic), and the below record(s):
- Sibaya: Government-issued identification/passport and/or personalised MVG card.
- Time Square, GrandWest, Carnival City, Wild Coast: Government-issued identification/passport and/or personalised MVG card.
A participant who does not wish to be present at the draw may nominate a proxy for draw(s) held on a specific day to represent him/her at the draw by completing the Opt Out & Proxy form, available at the VIP and MVG desks of the applicable casino from 07h00 on the day of the draw, prior to the draw subject to the terms and conditions set out in the proxy form. Only the participant who was selected as the winner (and not the proxy) will be entitled to the prize(s) subject to these rules.
The participant agrees that the proxy is only permitted to represent him/her at draws on a specific date. Where a proxy is representing multiple participants on the same draw date, the corresponding participants will be disqualified. Where prizes were issued to a proxy that was representing multiple participants as aforesaid, the corresponding participant agrees to return the prize(s) to the casino without compensation.
If a participant/proxy is not present for the draw or does not present himself or herself within the specified time with the corresponding printed or electronic ticket, personalised MVG card or identification document; or if he or she cannot be identified by the casino in the above manner within the 120 seconds concerned, a redraw will occur for another prize winner without any compensation
The respective draw times and dates will be advertised through advertising mediums used for this promotional competition.
Participants must activate their entry into the draw(s) on the day of the draw(s) at the applicable casino prior to the actual draw(s) within the specified times during which entry is open. The opening and closing times for the entry to the draw(s) at the applicable casino will be advertised through mediums used by the applicable casino.
In the event that the promotional competition provides prize winners the opportunity to risk their prize for a higher value prize or another prize altogether, the prize winner concerned will not be compensated for losing the prize he/she risked.
The number of draw entries a participant may be eligible for may be communicated prior to the draw. In such instances, the number of draw entries communicated is subject to variation. Variation may occur due to the difference in time between the data extraction and the time when draw entries are activated by the participant.
Participants consent by virtue of their participation that their personal information, including but not limited to, their name, surname, and/or Sun MVG number, may be announced or displayed by the casino.
Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise advertised. Prize winners must positively identify themselves by producing a government-issued identification document when signing for receipt of their prizes.
All decisions are final and binding, and no correspondence or appeals will be entertained.
Any person transgressing the rules of this promotional competition will be disqualified.
In the event of technical failure, malfunction or damage to the device used during the promotional competition for the selection of prizes and prize winners, irrespective of the cause thereof, another suitable device or method will be used at the sole discretion of Management.
Every participant/proxy in the promotional competition shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the rules by virtue of their participation.
In the event that management makes any exception or deviation from these rules, it does not mean that the casino waives any of its rights including but not limited to enforcing these rules in future or similar circumstances that resulted in the exception or deviation concerned.
The above clauses are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found not to be enforceable by law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force to the full extent that is permissible by law.
These rules are the official rules for this promotional competition and supersede any other version. Copies of these rules are available at the Sun MVG Desk upon request and at suninternational.com.
Management reserves the right to terminate this promotional competition without prior notice and without any compensation, or to enhance prizes or increase the number of prizes or vary other aspects of the promotional competition where such changes benefit the participants (excluding earning criteria), and to amend the relevant dates with notice.
