A world-class Public Village for Nedbank Golf Challenge fans

Golf fans attending this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player are set for a world-class experience from the minute they walk into the Public Village at Sun City.

The Welcome Walkway is the start of the Nedbank Golf Challenge Fan Experience, and it begins with a cutting-edge Nedbank Virtual Reality Experience at the Gary Player Country Club where fans can engage with the history of this great tournament in a way they’ve never done before.

The Nedbank Golf Challenge app also offers exciting content and sponsor activations where fans can earn points on the fan leaderboard and win daily prizes. By downloading and registering on the app, members of the public can also purchase their tickets for the event in a safe and secure digital environment, and pay for food, drinks or merchandise at any of the enrolled vendors as part of the Scan-to-Pay feature linked to the Nedbank Money™ app.

And of course they will be able to keep up with the latest golf action, news and updates.

Sun Vacation Club will showcase a unique new activation featuring a recreation of the lounge of one of the recently refurbished Sun Vacation Club units, with fans invited to try and chip a golf ball into the various challenges set up in the lounge for the chance to win spot prizes.

In the Public Village itself, Stella Artois will offer a lucky fan seen drinking one of their beers at the Nedbank Golf Challenge the chance to win a personally cooked three-course meal by renowned chef Steve Maresch at the Stella Pop-Up Restaurant.

A Stella beer purchased at any of the bars within the confines of the golf course during the Nedbank Golf Challenge also offer fans the chance to gain an entry into the Stella Bunker Challenge, where the 10 players closest to the pin will go through to a daily final to win prizes ranging from the latest TaylorMade gear to cash vouchers.

SunBet’s “A Cut above the Rest” competition is a new putting competition in which fans can win free bets based on the amount of putts it takes to sink a ball. All participants will also be entered into a lucky draw for an exclusive weekend stay at Sun City.

For those interested in golf equipment, Titleist will showcase their latest innovations, including the new TS Driver and Metals. The Titleist Product Specialists will be on-site to offer fans a complimentary golf club fitting and golf ball selection, and by signing up to Team Titleist during the event they could also win a Limited Edition Titleist golf bag.

And FlightScope will reward those who take on the challenge of trying to hit the straightest drive with the chance to win a FlightScope Mevo.

The food and beverage offering in the Public Village is amongst the finest to be found at any major golf tournament in the world.

The Food Factory (Halaal-certified) will offer fast, wholesome and tasty food, including burgers, pizzas and French fries as well as a range of sumptuous salads.

The Brew Monkey gastro pub will be the place for artisanal meals. The Brew Monkey’s menu specialises in light meals ranging from chicken wings, the famous NGC ribs and gourmet dogs.

Kungfu Cowboy is where East meets West at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, combining American and Asian dishes.

And for something sweet, the iconic Krispy Kreme doughnuts is back again in the Public Village for the second year running.

The Sun Bar will be a relaxing Champagne and Oyster Bar, providing fresh oysters served with all accompaniments as well as cocktails, ice-cold beers and a selection of classic spirits.

Golf fans can also create their own gin at the Beefeater Gin Bar, while the Jameson Bar will bring the atmosphere of a luxury whiskey lounge to the golf.

And the Amarula Bar is the home for one of Africa’s most iconic drinks.
