Gary Player’s #StrokeofGenius on Day 2 is a tie

The Black Knight was hard-pressed to select only one shot for his #StrokeofGenius in Friday’s second round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge, hosted by Gary Player.

It was a round that again brought out the best in the players as they battled a tough golf course and equally challenging conditions.

At the end of it, Frenchman Victor Dubuisson seized a two-stroke lead on six under despite a lightning delay.

His nearest challengers on four under were South Africa’s Darren Fichardt and England’s Lee Westwood.

“I have to make it a tie,” said Player.

Alex Noren was the first to get Player’s vote for his chip-in on the 10th hole.

“He had to chip over kikuyu and up over a mound, and chipped it right into the cup, which gives you great strength when you go to the 11th tee,” said Player.

Leader Dubuisson was also top of Player’s list for his long birdie putt on the par-four sixth.

“Dubuisson had this putt...I’d say 60 feet...To knock it in from that distance takes talent.”
