The VIP Baccarat Tournament (“the Tournament”) is exclusive to invited and qualifying MVG members, who are not excluded from gambling activities or who have not been refused entry to any Sun International casino(s). Exclusions and refusal of entries imposed during the Tournament will preclude participation.
This tournament is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents, or consultants of or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the company or marketing service providers, or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members. In addition, all persons who are precluded from participating in gambling activities as determined in the Sun International Employees, Suppliers, Service Providers and Concessionaires Gambling Policy may not participate in this Tournament.
During the Tournament period, players will earn points whilst playing tables games on an accumulative basis. The points earning will commence at 08h00 on 18 July 2025 and will terminate at 23h59 on 26 August 2025.
Entries to the draws and leaderboard points cannot be purchased for cash, points or through any other form of consideration.
On 27 August the first 12 players on the leaderboard who accumulated the highest table points will each secure a seat in the Tournament.
Aside from the aforementioned players that progress to the Tournament, the VIP team will invite 30 out of town guests to participate in the Tournament. A total of 42 players with thus compete.
Each qualifier is only allowed to occupy one seat.
The Top 50 Earners will be ranked on a leaderboard during the promotional period using their accumulated points earned over that period.
It is possible for malfunctions to occur in respect of the leaderboard or system used to calculate the points earned or delays may occur in the updating of the ranking. The rankings displayed on the leaderboard are not final until such time that management has verified and confirmed the same. Any person who relies on the rankings prior to management confirming same does so at his/her own risk.
A participant who does not wish to be present at the Tournament must opt-out of being present and may furthermore nominate a proxy to represent him/her by completing a proxy form prior to the Tournament subject to the terms and conditions set out in the proxy form. Only the participant who was selected as a player (and not the proxy) will be entitled to the prize(s) subject to these rules.
Heat allocations and seat positions will be allocated by way of a random draw. Players or their proxies (as may be applicable) must be present at the draw for seat allocations.
Seats are not transferable, and players or proxies must be present at least 10 minutes before the actual start of any heat where the game rules and relevant protocols will be explained in addition to the written game rules and protocols. Players or their proxies who are not present at least 10 minutes before the actual start of any heat will forfeit their seats. In such instances the games concerned will continue without the full quota of players.
The participant agrees that the proxy is only permitted to represent him/her at the Tournament on a specific date. Where a proxy is representing multiple participants on the same date, the corresponding participants will be disqualified. Where prizes were issued to a proxy that was representing multiple participants as aforesaid, the corresponding participant agrees to return the prize(s) to the casino without compensation.
No buy-ins or value chips will be accepted.
All players will be given 1 minute to place their bets at the same time during each heat.
Each player will receive an equal amount of non-cash value tournament chips to participate. Tournament chips remain the property of Boardwalk Casino.
The number of hands to be played at each game and chip counts will be decided by the Tournament Director.
Players may not play both Player and the Banker bets simultaneously.
Players are prohibited from introducing additional tournaments chips at any stage of the Tournament. Such conduct shall disqualify the respective player(s) from the Tournament.
All bets must be in multiples of the minimum with no limit on Player/Bank or Tie. Pair bets will not be accepted.
If the result of the coup is a tie the rotating marker will still move to the next player.
Tournament chips must remain within the designated chip area on the table and in sight of other players at all times.
Players must play every coup of the shoe with a minimum bet on either Player or Banker. Tie bet can be played in conjunction with Player or Banker bet.
In the event of a tie where 2 or more players have same value of chips after the last hand is dealt, 3 extra hands will be dealt to determine a winner between the players in the tied position.
Should the 3 extra hands not resolve the tie then the game shall proceed to sudden death to determine the winner. Sudden death-players will go to a secret bet mode whereby their secret bets will be in a sealed bag and the winner of this will be declared the winner.
A rotating marker button which will be used to show the betting order shall be placed on Box 1 at the commencement of the final Heat. The marker button shall rotate to the next player after each hand that is completed.
Each player will be requested to place his/her bet in a sequential order starting with the player with the marker button during the final heat.
Once a bet has been placed it cannot be changed. For example, the player on Box 1 cannot change his/her bet after the player on Box 2 has commenced with placing his/her bet.
The coaching of players will not be allowed and may render in a disqualification at the discretion of the Tournament director.
Partnership or collusive betting is strictly forbidden, and pooling of tournament chips is prohibited.
Pay-outs for both Player and Banker will be Even Money and Tie bet will pay 8:1.
Each player who is still active in the game will be offered to record their secret bets. This bet must be a legitimate bet, either Player or Banker. This bet is optional, must be accurate, and within the player’s available tournament chips.
Players ranked first (i.e. most value in tournament chips) at the end of each heat based on the chip count will qualify for the final table. All six (6) players at the final table will share prizemoney as listed above.
Boardwalk Casino reserves the right of admission to the Tournament.
Boardwalk Casino reserves the right to terminate the Tournament at any stage without prior notification and without any compensation, or to enhance prizes or increase the number of prizes or vary other aspects of the Tournament where such changes are fair to or benefits the participants (excluding earning criteria).
The published or displayed Tournament rules are the official rules that are applicable and will supersede any other document containing similar content.
All disputes during the Tournament shall be referred to the respective Tournament Directors at casino and group stages for resolution. The decision of the Tournament Director concerned will be final and binding and no further correspondence will be entered into.
The respective prizes, times and dates, and points earning criteria to qualify for entry tickets will be advertised through advertising mediums used for the promotional competition or communicated via SMS.
Participants consent by virtue of their participation that their personal information, including but not limited to, their name, surname, and/or Sun MVG number, being announced or displayed by the casino.
Prizes are not transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise advertised. Prize winners must positively identify themselves by producing a government issued identification document when signing for receipt of their prizes.
Any person transgressing the rules of this Tournament will be disqualified.
In the event of technical failure, malfunction or damage to the device used during the Tournament for the selection of prizes, finalists or prize winners, irrespective of the cause thereof, another suitable device or method will be used at the sole discretion of management.
Every participant/proxy in the Tournament shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the rules by virtue of their participation.
The clauses herein are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found not to be enforceable by law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force to the full extent that is permissible by law.
An internal auditor shall be available to ensure compliance with regards to the rules and procedures.
