Mechanics

  • Play Slots or Tables to earn points.
  • 4 points in the prior week per entry, capped at 100. 
  • Bank or Burn draws every Wednesday at 20h00 and Friday at 21h00.
  • 10 Winners are drawn. They push a button to activate the Bank or Burn game. The prize amount will be determined by the cash value displayed when the contestant stops the vault, prior to the vault “burning”. 
  • Contestants play against time, with the vault value randomly increasing in cash value. The Time period of the vault closing is unknown. 
  • The vault can burn at any time; if it does, the contestant will receive a guaranteed minimum of R1000 in cash. The vault will display what could have been won if the contestant did not “burn”.
  • If the contestant banks before the vault burns, they will win the banked value, which will be rounded up to the nearest R100.
  • The maximum vault value per draw date is R72 000.
  • The maximum single win per draw is R25 000.
  • Bank or Burn winners also receive a Golden Ticket into one of the car draws on 31 January, 28 February, and 28 March 2026.

Rules

  1. Any person who is under 18 years, or who has been excluded, or who is self-excluded, or who falls into any category of excluded persons, is expressly prohibited from participating in the Wednesday and Friday Bank or Burn draws.
  2. This promotional competition is exclusive to Sun MVG members, and is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents, or consultants of or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the company or marketing service providers, or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members. In addition, all persons who are precluded from participating in gambling activities as determined in the Sun International Employees, Suppliers, Service Providers and Concessionaires Gambling Policy may not participate in this promotional competition.
  3. Earn 4 Gaming points, anywhere on the gaming floor in the prior week for an entry into the draw.
  1. Tickets can be printed on the day of the draw from 17h00, till 15 minutes prior to the draw.  
  2. 10 Contestants will be drawn to participate in the Bank or Burn game.
  3. During the game, escalating cash amounts will be displayed on the screen. The guest can choose to stop the game at any point to "bank" an amount of cash. The game could however “Burn” at any given time, resulting in the guest receiving a guaranteed R1000 cash. If the game “Burns”, guests only win the guaranteed R1000. The amount the guest could have won will, however, be displayed.
  4. Bank or Burn winners will also receive a golden ticket into one of the car draws.  (Car draws are on 31 January, 28 February, and 28 March 2026).
  5. Promotional periods commence on 4 January, and terminates on 28 March 2026, and guests earn entries by playing slots or tables whilst using their Sun MVG cards in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Sun MVG programme.
  6. Entries cannot be purchased for cash, points or through any other form of consideration. The number of valid entries are limited to 100 per qualifying draw.
  7. Where applicable, the images of the prize(s) used in advertisements or displays may not necessarily be the actual prize(s), model(s) or specification(s) issued as prizes. The relevant information may be sought from the casino.
  8. Prize winners for the Bank or bust games will be selected by way of random draw. Participants who are present for the draw must present themselves to the promotional jockey within 120 seconds of their names being drawn. The participant concerned must produce the corresponding printed or electronic ticket, personalised MVG card or identification document to be eligible for the prize.
  9. A participant who does not wish to be present at the draw may nominate a proxy for draw(s) held on a specific day to represent him/her at the draw by completing a proxy form at the casino, on the day of the draw, prior to the draw subject to the terms and conditions set out in the proxy form. Only the participant who was selected as the winner (and not the proxy) will be entitled to the prize(s) subject to these rules. Proxies may only be nominated after participants have entered their tickets for a particular draw.
  10. If a participant or their proxy is not present at the draw, or fails to present themselves within the specified time (120 seconds) with the required verification — such as the corresponding printed or electronic ticket, personalised MVG card, or valid identification document — or if they cannot be identified by the casino using these means within the allotted time, a redraw will be conducted to select an alternative prize winner. No compensation will be provided in such cases.
  11. The Proxy may now participate in all draws for a particular draw day, as opposed to the requirements for a proxy form to be signed for each draw within the same day.
  12. The Proxy is limited to represent only one participant on a particular draw day. This will prevent a single proxy acting on behalf of multiple participants on the same day draw.
  13. Participants must activate their entry into the draw(s) on the day of the draw(s) prior to the actual draw(s) within the specified times during which entry is open. The opening and closing times for the entry to the draw(s) will be advertised through mediums used by the casino.
  14. A proxy for a manual draw must be completed 5 hours before the draw takes place.
  15. The respective draw times and dates, and points earning criteria to qualify for entry tickets will be advertised through advertising mediums used for this promotional competition.
  16. Participants consent by virtue of their participation that their personal information, including but not limited to, their name, surname, and/or Sun MVG number, being announced or displayed by the casino.
  17. Prizes are not transferrable, and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise advertised. Prize winners must positively identify themselves by producing a government issued identification document when signing for receipt of their prizes.
  18. All decisions are final and binding, and no correspondence or appeals will be entertained.
  19. Any person transgressing the rules of this promotional competition will be disqualified.
  20. In the event of technical failure, malfunction or damage to the device used during the promotional competition for the selection of prizes and prize winners, irrespective of the cause thereof, another suitable device or method will be used at the sole discretion of Management.
  21. Every participant/proxy in the promotional competition shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the rules by virtue of their participation.
  22. If management makes any exception or deviation from these rules, it does not mean that the casino waives any of its rights including but not limited to enforcing these rules in future or similar circumstances that resulted in the exception or deviation concerned.
  23. The above clauses are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found not to be enforceable by law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force to the full extent that is permissible by law.
  24. These rules are the official rules for this promotional competition and supersedes any other version. Copies of these rules are available at suninternational.com.
  25. Management reserves the right to terminate this promotional competition without prior notice and without any compensation, or to enhance prizes or increase the number of prizes or vary other aspects of the promotional competition where such changes benefit the participants (excluding earning criteria).
