What is the difference between the old and new MVG programme?
A significant change is you are able to earn rewards when staying in hotels and dining at participating Sun International restaurants, and not just gaming.
Earn Tier Credits to determine your card tier status. This then enables you to manage your status in the loyalty programme. You will earn 2 types of points: Casino Points for playback on slots machines and Leisure Points for spend at restaurants, bars and entertainment.
How do I qualify for special offers?
Sun International properties will offer benefits and rewards at outlets on their properties to be enjoyed whilst you visit. Direct offers will be mailed timeously to members who stay and play at Sun International properties.
What is the Sun MVG accommodation discount with the launch of the new programme?
We have followed international trends and offer Best Available Rate (BAR) discounts at Sun International hotels.
Diamond - 30% on BAR
Platinum - 20% on BAR
Gold - 10% on BAR
These discounts can be secured when booking through our call centre and when booking online.

What are the 4 tiers of the Sun MVG programme?
The MVG programme will remain a 4-tiered programme. The new Sun MVG loyalty programme has four tiers. We have introduced a new exclusive top tier: Diamond.
How long are Tier Credits, Casino & Leisure Points valid for?
Tier credits and MVG Points (collectively Casino and Leisure Points) are valid for a period of 12 months from when they were earned.
These points are valid for a rolling 365 days, and thereafter the Casino and Leisure Points expire and the Tier Credits reset to zero.
How are Casino and Leisure points earned?
You will always earn Casino & Leisure Points every time you play, stay or dine at Sun International outlets. Remember to use your MVG card when you are playing slot machines, table games, checking into the hotel, and dining at Sun International restaurants. Look out for the ‘MVG Cards Accepted Here’ sign.
Where can you view your Tier Credits, Casino and Leisure Points balances?
- Log in to view your balances anywhere, anytime.
- Enquire at the Sun MVG Desks.
What can you use your Casino Points for?
Casino Points can only be used for playback on slot machines and table games. Casino Points are non-redeemable and cannot be cashed out.
What can you use your Leisure Points for?
Leisure Points can be used to pay for accommodation, meals and beverages at Sun International hotels and casinos and their participating outlets. Leisure Points are non-redeemable and cannot be cashed out.
What can you use your Tier Credits for?
Tier credits are only used to determine your MVG card status. Tier Credit is a non transactable currency, it determines your card status only.
Where can you sign up to the Sun MVG programme?
You can complete an application form:
- at any Sun MVG Desk
- at the Concierge Desk at Sun International hotels
When you collect your MVG card you need to produce your South African ID, Driver’s License or passport.
What is the Rand value of Casino and Leisure Points?
MVG Points are equivalent to a Rand value.
Casino points can only be used for playback on Slots and Tables.
Leisure points can only be used to pay for food and beverage, and accommodation at participating outlets.
Look out for the ‘Sun MVG Leisure Points Accepted Here’ sign.
What is the Lost Card replacement fee?
Either R30 (payable at the Cash Desk) or 30 Leisure points (Payable at the Sun MVG Desk).
Will my Maroon card still work from 25 October 2016?
Yes, all cards will still be 100% functional when going Live with the new Sun MVG loyalty programme.
How does a Sun MVG member access the DEOD benefit?
The Sun MVG loyalty member will need to access the Sun International website www.suninternational.com to obtain the link register for the DEOD benefit.
Why do Sun MVG members need to register again on the DEOD site?
Sun International is in partnership with Discover Digital. We have not shared our loyalty members’ personal information with the 3rd party. The only information we share, once the loyalty member has registered, is the customer status. This is used to determine the discounts the member will receive.
