How to participate

  • Guests need to collect their ticket from the Reward Centre kiosks and place their ticket in the manual tombola that will be placed in the tables non-smoking area;
  • Guests will be selected via manual draw;
  • Participants will each receive R500 in competition chips for the tournaments and finale;
  • A total of eight (8) hands / spins will be dealt in each game and the winner is determined by the number and value of the chips held by each player;
  • The top two players with the highest chip count on each table, will go through to the final table;
  • Participants will be seated at the Blackjack and American Roulette table in the order of the draw;
  • A rotating marker will be used at the Blackjack table to determine the betting and dealing order. The entrant/player who has the marker directly in front of them will be dealt the first card;
  • Players on the American Roulette table will have two minutes to place their bets before the dealer spins the ball:
  • Participant must place a bet on every hand dealt and for every spin, failure to do so will result in elimination from the tournament;
  • Blackjack bets must consist of a minimum of R50 and maximum of R1 000 in chips with multiples of R50;
  • American Roulette bets must consist of a minimum of R10, no call bets and place bets.
  • Blackjack participants will only be allowed to place their bet on his/her box;
  • If a card is drawn by mistake after the first two cards have been dealt to all the entrants, it will be offered to all entrants in their turn as their third card.  If not taken, the dealer must then take this card as his / her second card, and only the dealer may draw any further cards to his / her hand;
  • At the end of the fourth and 7th hand / spin, scores will be recorded; 
  • No coaching or partner play will be permitted;
  • In the event of a tie between players in positions determining who qualifies (ie 2nd  and 3rd) at the end of the 8th hand / spin, two more hands / spins will be dealt to the players tying for the position. If this still does not determine the winner on the table, two more hands/spins will be dealt, and so on, until a winner is determined;
  • Side-bets like Perfect Pairs are not accepted.

Earning period: Weekly from 06h45 on the Wednesday to 06h45 on the Tuesday preceding the respective tournaments on a Thursday.
Ticket issue: Every Thursday from 16h00
Draw date: Thursday | 3, 10, 17 and 24 February 2022

Thursday | 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 March 2022

Draw time: 18h30

Tournaments take place once the 16 participants are selected.

Rules

  1. No person under 18 is allowed to gamble or participate in this promotion;
  2. Any person who has been issued with a Refusal of Entry order or who is self-excluded or who falls into the category of excluded persons is expressly prohibited from participating in this promotion;
  3. This promotion is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the company or marketing service providers or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members;
  1. MVG members who actively play tables during the promotional period will be eligible;
  2. MVG members must earn at least one (1) casino point within the earning period to receive one ticket into the draw to participate in the On the Spot tables tournaments;
  3. The promotion run on the following dates and times:    
    • Earning period: Weekly from 06h45 on the Wednesday to 06h45 on the Tuesday preceding the respective tournaments on a Thursday.
    • Ticket issue:  Every Thursday from 16h00 
    • Draw date: Thursday |3, 10, 17 and 24 February 2022 Thursday |3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 March 2022 
    • Draw time: 18h30 
    • Tournaments take place once the 16 participants are selected.
  4. Ticket issue will close automatically 15 minutes prior to the start of the draws;
  5. The draws take place on the main tables non-smokers’ casino floor;
  6. Guests need to collect their ticket from the Reward Centre kiosks and place their ticket in the manual tombola that will be placed in the tables non-smoking area;
  7. Guests will be selected via manual draw;
  8. Prize winners will be given 180 seconds to present themselves and must be in possession of their MVG card and a valid picture identification (Passport, SA bar-coded Identity Book or Card, SA Driver’s License);
  9. Should the prize winner not present themselves within 180 seconds, a redraw will take place;
  10. The total prize value of this promotion is R90 000 in cash;

  27. GrandWest may cancel, modify, relocate, reschedule, alter or change the satellite schedule for any reason to the extent such is required with prior approval from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board;
  28. Entries cannot be purchased for cash, points or through any other form of consideration;
  29. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise advertised;
  30. In the event of a technical failure or damage to the device used for the promotion, irrespective of the cause, another suitable device or method may be used, at the sole discretion of Management and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board will be informed of such changes;
  31. All decisions are final and binding and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into;
  32. Participants do, however, have the option to approach the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in the event of a dispute;
  33. Any person transgressing the rules of this promotion will be disqualified;
  34. Every participant in the promotion shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the rules by virtue of their participation;
  35. The above clauses are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found to be unenforceable by operation of the law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force.
