No person under 18 is allowed to gamble or participate in this promotion;
Any person who has been issued with a Refusal of Entry order or who is self-excluded or who falls into the category of excluded persons is expressly prohibited from participating in this promotion;
This promotion is closed to any persons who are directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the company or marketing service providers or spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members;
The tournament is exclusive to the top 10 unit qualifiers from the unit heats, excluding the top four national qualifiers, who automatically progress to the final competition;
Tournament Rules
Unit qualification
Table players at each unit must register to participate in the tournament which will qualify them for a position on a leader board position;
The registration process will take place at Promo Exec terminals using an electronic registration portal;
A tables points earned leader board will be updated daily and displayed at each unit using digital platforms;
The points earning period will commence on the gaming date start of 14 May 2021 and will be cut off at the end of the gaming day on 13 June 2021;
The leader board must list position, account number and points total in that order and have at least 20 more positions on it that can be qualified for;
Once each unit’s leader board has been finalised on the last day, the data will be consolidated to determine total points earned across the group. The four players who earned the highest points over 31 days on the group leader board then automatically qualifies for a seat at each of the four semi-final tables. This will result in the units where these players originate from to include the next player/s who did not make the cut off for the unit finals;
After the leader board stage each unit will host the unit finals at an event where qualifying players are drawn for a unit heat table and a seat position which will take place on Saturday, 18 September 2021;
The draw will be done by Gaming Management and VIP to determine seat allocation in the heats, seat numbers will be verified and recorded;
Seat allocations may not be changed;
A heat will consist of four players;
The player with the highest chip count at the end of 14 coups will be regarded as the winner of the respective heat and will advance to the group finals weekend;
Unit heats/elimination tournament
No player shall be allowed to introduce additional tournaments chips at any stage of the tournament. Any introduction of additional chips will result in immediate disqualification;
Tournament chips must always remain in the designated chip area on the table and in sight of other players;
The coaching of participants will not be allowed and may result in disqualification at the discretion of the tournament director;
Participation must be in person and players who are not present before the actual start will forfeit their seats;
Players play for themselves, monies will not be pooled or transferred to another player;
Under no circumstances will any bets be accepted after the dealer has called “No more bets”;
The players will get R5 000 in tournament chips to play;
The heats will consist of 14 coups;
Any bet found to be over the max, will only be paid to the table limit;
The winners of each heat (highest chip total) will advance to the quarter finals, semi-finals and finals stages. Chips from the previous heat are not carried over;
The inspector shall cut the cards;
All cards will be dealt face up in front of the dealer;
A rotating marker button will be used to show the betting order, starting from player one;
Each player will be requested to place their bet in a sequential order starting from the player with the marker button;
Once a bet has been placed it cannot be changed;
Players may not play both Player and Banker bets simultaneously;
Minimum is R100, maximum R10 000 and all bets must be in multiples of R100 – Tie R100 to R1 000;
Players must play every coup with a minimum bet on either Player or Banker. Tie bets can be played only in conjunction with a Player or Banker bet;
The dealer alone will handle the cards during the duration of the tournament;
A chip count will be done on the 7th and 13th coups;
In the event of a tie, an extra hand or hands will be dealt until such time that a winner is determined;
Pay-outs for both Player and Banker will be Even Money and Tie bets will be paid at 8 to 1;
Players must be physically present to participate. Seats are not transferable and players not present 15 minutes before the actual start of any heat will forfeit their seat. In such instances the heat will proceed without the full quota of players;
Should a player that qualified for the unit heats, according to the leader board, not be able to attend the unit heat on the set date and time because of exceptional circumstances, the player would be allowed to nominate a proxy to play on their behalf. Unit management would need to be informed in writing at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the unit finals and the appropriate nomination form needs to be completed and submitted to unit management;
The top player from each of the heats will be awarded R10 000 in Xtra Play;
The total prize value for the unit heats is R100 000 in Xtra Play;
In the event that the top four national qualifiers are GrandWest based, then an additional R40 000 will be allocated, with each receiving R10 000 in Xtra Play;
Prizes are not transferable;
Prize winners must sign for receipt of prizes;
The standard internal control systems, which manages tables gaming, will be applied to ensure compliance with regards to the rules/procedures;
Disputes shall be referred to the Tournament Director for resolution and his/her decision shall be final and binding;
By virtue of participating in the tournament, players shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the tournament rules;
GrandWest reserves the right to alter or change the schedule in order to play the tournament. If for any reason the tournament is not capable of running as planned, GrandWest reserves the right to modify the tournament with notification to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board;
GrandWest reserves the right to terminate the tournament at any stage without giving prior notification, and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board shall be notified;
All decisions are final and binding and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into;
Participants do, however, have the option to approach the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in the event of a dispute;
Any person transgressing the rules of this promotion will be disqualified;
Every participant in the promotion shall be deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the rules by virtue of their participation;
The above clauses are severable from each other. Should any clause or part thereof be found to be unenforceable by operation of the law, such clause or part thereof will be severed, and the remaining clauses shall remain in force.
