Updates and Closures
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that the following closing dates may cause.
Access to Sun City Resort will continue to only be granted to Hotel and Sun Vacation Club residents, existing MVG members, guests with confirmed golf bookings and guests that have pre-purchased Valley of Waves Day Visitor Tickets.
Day Visitor tickets can be purchased on the day and are available from TicketPro. Limited tickets are available daily. Tickets cannot be purchased at the resort.
The Palace
The Palace Pool is open
Crystal Court and The Grill Room will be closed from Monday, 21 October and re-opens 25 November:
- Crystal Court Breakfast will be served in the Villa
- Grill Menu will be served in Plume
Cascades
The Cascades Hotel pool is open
Cabanas
Explore the Cabanas and immerse yourself in the newly revitalized reception and welcoming area.
Valley of Waves
Valley of the Waves closure:
- Please note that the Valley of Waves will be closed on Thursday 4 December 2025 due to a private function
- The Valley of Waves will close early at 17h00 on Wednesday, 17 September 2025 due to a private TBCSA function
Gary Player Country Club
The Gary Player Country Club Golf Course is closed every Monday for Maintenance.
The Lost City Golf Course
The Lost City Golf Course is closed every Tuesday for maintenance.
Sun City Hotel
Sun City Hotel, our beloved 45-year-old landmark, is embarking on an exciting 3-year refurbishment journey! Stay tuned for updates:
Phase 1: Completed in November 2024.
Phase 2: 03 February to 21 November 2025.
Phase 3: 18 January to 30 August 2026.
Refurbishment Notice: We’re upgrading our spaces to serve you better.
12 May – 18 Sep 2025: The swimming pool will be temporarily closed. Guests may use the Cabanas and Cascades pools, with towels available and returned at Reception.
From 19 Sep 2025: The Sun City Hotel pool reopens.
Until 30 Nov 2025: Hotel room refurbishments will continue.
Phase 1: 22 August to 22 November 2024.
