Since its launch in 2021, the Nedbank Junior Challenge has carved out its place as the premier stage for South Africa’s rising golf stars. Hosted at the iconic Gary Player Country Club at Sun City, this prestigious invitational gives top junior players a rare opportunity: to compete where legends have walked, and to showcase their talent on a course known for hosting one of golf’s most elite events - the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

Celebrating 5 Years of Rising Stars

As we celebrate the fifth edition of the Nedbank Junior Challenge, we honour the extraordinary talent that has graced our fairways and the unforgettable moments that have defined each tournament.

Past Champions

  • Yurav Premlall – 2021 – has since turned PRO and plays on DPWT & ST
  • Aldrich Potgieter – Runner Up 2022 – has since turned PRO finishing 2nd at Nedbank Golf Challenge in 2024 and winning Rocket Classic 2025 at Detroit Golf Club.
  • Stefan Jacobs – 2022 – has just started college golf in the US and started off his stint as a freshman at Augusta University in America by shooting an impressive level-par 72 off the daunting pro tees at none other than Augusta National.
  • Brian Newman – 2023 (Still at school – 16 years old)
  • Vian Jansen van Vuuren – 2024 - has gone on to play college golf in the US this year
  • 2025 - To Be Crowned
