Lights, Camera, Bridal Fashion at the SA Bridal Fashion Week

What to expect from SA’s biggest bridal fashion event

This is South Africa’s first and only national wedding and fashion event that caters for all race and cultural groups across our rainbow nation and it’s also the only national fashion week in our country.

Modelled on and inspired by the International Bridal Fashion Weeks, SA Bridal Fashion Week’s biggest draw cards include a choreographed combination of themed designer catwalk shows offering sneak peeks into exclusive new collections by local and international couture bridal designers. SABFW also provides a platform for emerging and student designers and features pop-up boutiques for brides, grooms, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, mother and father of the bride and groom, as well as for the guests...bridal wear and evening wear for all our rainbow brides and catering for every cultural background.

Time for South African bridal fashion to sparkle

South Africa has many accomplished and celebrated bridal fashion designers to be proud of and it’s time we showed the rest of the world what we’re made of. SABFW Durban talent includes David Tlale, Karen Monk-Klinjstra, Liz Ogumbo, Sun Goddess, Mike Narainsamy, Jacqui Emmanuel, Bianca Warren, McCarthy Wolff, Sfiso Sabelo and more.

Set to take the SA wedding industry by storm, the first ever national multi-cultural wedding event has developed new showcase to display service providers like never before. Imagine cakes coming down the ramp, table décor being displayed by models, makeup and hair options in a show, a spectacular shoe fashion parade and many more shows...all themed and inspired to leave the spectators inspired by ideas.

Don’t miss out on

The white couture collection from Miss South Africa will also be showcased at the fashion week as well as boutiques such as Pronovias from Barcelona who will be giving away a R30 000 wedding dress to one lucky bride. Durban will also see India-based designer to the stars, Shouger Merchant Doshi showcase her latest edgiest and most fantastic bridal and trousseau collections. Doshi will close the SA Bridal Fashion Week Durban event, with a stunning collection from Mumbai on 10 August. A pop-up store will follow after her show where the public can shop the looks hot off the catwalk.

Bringing the best of the best ideas and inspiration to our rainbow brides who are planning their big day with a luxurious display of offerings from the wedding industry – you’ll also get to see staged showcases themed around Hair, Makeup, Jewellery, Shoes, Accessories (including handbags, veils and hair accessories), Cakes, Table Centrepieces, Décor (includes table decor), Flowers, Bouquets and an unique show that includes photographer’s and videographer’s work.
