KZN Bollywood Idols Season 4

KZN Bollywood Idol was founded in 2023 by Risa Raeanne Moodley, professionally known as Risa Raeanne.

Risa Raeanne Moodley is a 24-year-old singer, songwriter, musician, public performer and music tutor. She has been performing publicly since she was 5 years old and has recorded 8 albums and 4 original songs. She graduated from UKZN with her Bachelor of Arts in Music and her PGCE from Stadio to be a Music and English school teacher.

Aside from this, Risa also studied North Indian Classical Music from Drisha Music Academy and currently teaches Indian Classical Vocals to children weekly through the Risa Raeanne Vocal Academy. Risa also represented her country in the United States as an ambassador for the International Presentation of Performers (iPOP).

Season 4 will be held on the 30^th May 2026. The top 15 contestants have been chosen. Risa Raeanne and PV Events will return as featuring artists as well as MCDJ Naren Maharajh, the four judges and TeamTax Auditing team. GM Vikings will be backing every artist.

When the audition process has ended and the top 15 have been chosen, they undergo a process of meet and greet, interviews and rehearsals. These start taking place at least 6 weeks before the show in order to prepare the finalists for their big night. A briefing is held where the competition rules are explained as well as the format of the show. This also acts as a meet and greet so that the contestants can become familiar with each other and be a part of the KZN Bollywood Idol family. On the same afternoon, we have each contestant being interviewed by our MCs.

These videos are professionally and cinematically recorded so that they can be uploaded onto social media as well as for the finalists to have a professional experience of the showbiz lifestyle. The videos from season 1 were recorded by Fiesty Photo and Videography and Season 2 was done by HL Photography.

The rehearsal process takes place after the briefing. A strict rehearsal schedule is followed as each contestant is given a half an hour slot to choose from out of 15 slots over 3 days. One rehearsal per contestant. Five contestants per day. The band and the contestant come fully prepared and everything is overseen by Risa Raeanne.

Season 4 was announced in January 2026 and auditions close on 28th Feb 2026. The show will take place on 30 May 2026 and be held at the Sibaya IZulu Theatre. The band that will be performing will be GM Vikings (formerly known as Geeth Milan). Sound, lighting and screens are to be provided by Bilal Khan of Azam Khans cc. Naren Maharajh will return to host the show with his zealous and bubbly personalities. Risa Raeanne and PV Events will be featuring artists for Season 4.

The winner will win cash money and be presented with a voucher to have their own music produced by some of our best local producers. Each finalist will perform a Bollywood song of their choice and thereafter the winner will be announced.

The show will take place on one night only and it will be a duration of 3 – 3.5 hours. The show has no age limit and therefore our target market is everyone in the community. We aspire to give everyone a chance to enjoy or be a part of the experience and feel included.
