Airport Tax

On departure from Matshapa Airport, Manzini, an airport tax of E50 per passenger is levied.

On arrival at all borders, a road tax of E50 per vehicle is levied on all foreign registered vehicles.


The Swaziland currency is the Lilangeni, and Emalangeni being plural. The South African Rand can be used at ease in Swaziland and is equivalent to the local Lilangeni (one to one).


Swaziland has two official languages, being English and siSwati.



It is prohibited to take photographs of the Royal family, uniformed police, army personnel vehicles or aircraft. Permission is required to take photographs of individuals or homesteads.

Visas are not required for entry into Swaziland for the following persons:

  1. Holders of a valid Entry Permit/Pass
  2. Commonwealth Citizens, with the exception of Bangladesh, India, Nigeria and Sri Lanka
