Former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters on why she loves The Palace
Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters recently jetted into South Africa to reconnect with her South African friends ahead of her wedding to American football player Tim Tebow. Her first stop was The Palace at Sun City Resort
One of the country's top five-star hotels, The Palace at Sun City Resort is a luxury destination like no other. Situated on an extinct volcanic site and surrounded by the lush Pilanesburg National Park, The Palace is a portal to another world.
The sounds and calls of birds and wildlife in the reserve create a harmonious backdrop that evoke an exotic jungle, while the comforts of richly appointed rooms complete the luxury escape. Is it any wonder then that Miss South Africa and Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters chose the hotel as a base for a luxury getaway to reconnect with her South African friends ahead of her wedding to American football star Tim Tebow?
"Sun City is very special to me. It was where I was crowned Miss South Africa in 2017, and every time I visit, it feels like a home away from home. I wanted to spend time with my friends to celebrate ahead of my wedding, and The Palace was a natural choice. We get to do all of the things we love in a beautiful setting surrounded by jungle. We even got to go on a 'safari', which is such a South African experience."
"During my time competing at Miss South Africa, we [the contestants] would go down to The Palace swimming pool after a long day of rehearsals on high heels and put our feet in the cold water. I have so many great memories from that time and was looking forward to recreating them – and getting some great South African sunshine."
