Spring is time for jazz with Just Us at Jackson Hall
Established Cape Town based jazz band, Just Us, returns to the stage at Jackson Hall, GrandWest to treat fans to soul lifting performances in September 2017. The five member band, which boasts over 15 years together, perform a wide repertoire that ranges from soothing, slow jazz to up tempo pop. During their time together, Just Us has had the privilege of performing with several international artists including Simply Red and Kenny Thomas. Their previous shows at Jackson Hall have been well received by jazz enthusiasts.
The band’s lead vocalist is Holly Skye. She has been performing for over 12 years and has graced the stages at numerous clubs and venues as part of jazz band Destiny and later, with Cape Town Divas.
On drums is Ashwin Daniels who started his music career in the gospel industry. He has worked with the likes of Emo Adams, Loukmaan Adams, Jag, Karin Kortje, Zayn Adams, Faze4 and Vernon Castle. On guitar is Nazeem Brown, a versatile guitarist with over 35 years experience in the music industry. He has played and recorded with the likes of Robbie Jansen, Sammy Webber, Taliep Petersen and Alistair Izobell.
On piano and keyboards is Errol Stephanus who has been playing professionally for over 40 years. He first came to Cape Town with Walter Brown, a founding member of The Rockets. He has also worked with bands such as Bloodshed, Jackie, Tomorrow's World and Vicky Sampson.
On bass is Bentley Brown who was born into a musical family. He has been playing bass for more than 23 years.
Just Us performs at 21h00 on Fridays and Saturdays during September 2017. There is no charge to enjoy their performances.
