The South African claimed his fourth European Tour victory in the 2018 Tshwane Open, which was the culmination of a long road back from injury and swing changes.
It was a victory that carried him to a second Sunshine Tour Order of Merit title, and which secured him his place in this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge, hosted by Gary Player.
Coetzee won in his first season on the Sunshine Tour in 2007 and has gone on to claim nine victories on the Tour.
His first European Tour victory came in the 2014 Joburg Open. A year later he won the Tshwane Open for his second European Tour title. That same year he beat Thorbjørn Olesen in a playoff to win the inaugural AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. Then in March 2018 he added a second Tshwane Open title for his fourth European Tour victory.
Coetzee has twice represented South Africa in the World Cup of Golf and his best finish in a Major was tied seventh in the 2015 PGA Championship.
