She sings in various languages including Bhojpuri, English, French, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu . Vidya found unexpected success after uploading mashups of Bollywood and Western Pop music to YouTube in 2015.
The songs, all produced by bandmate Shankar Tucker, quickly gained recognition from the likes of Diplo, Major Lazer, and Hrithik Roshan, as well as publications including Cosmopolitan, Buzzfeed, The Hindu, and the Deccan Chronicle. In only two years, Vidya accumulated over 760K Facebook fans, 2.6 million YouTube subscribers, and 283 million views on YouTube.
One of her most popular mashups include, "Lean On" and "Jind Mahi" for which she had a collaboration with several other musicians. She released "Kuttanadan Punjayile," a famous Kerala boat song, as a fusion along with an English song written by Shankar Tucker and herself which was shot in Kerala . Vidya's most popular mashup of "Closer" and "Kabira" featuring singer-songwriter Casey Breves garnered over 2 million views in a day and was trending in India for a few weeks. In just two weeks, the video has over 13 million views.
Vidya uploaded her first single "Be Free" on 09 January 2017. Vidya continues to explore her musical journey with sold out concerts all over India, United States and Hong Kong with her next performance in South Africa.
