Book ticketsThe Professional Fighters League (PFL) returns to South Africa with its second electrifying PFL Africa event, bringing the continent’s fiercest MMA talent to Johannesburg. On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the Big Top Arena at Carnival City will host the Welterweight and Featherweight quarterfinals of the inaugural PFL Africa tournament, where 32 elite fighters from 15 African nations will enter the SmartCage to battle for a place in the semifinals and a shot at becoming the first-ever PFL Africa Champions by year’s end.
The main event features a high-octane Featherweight quarterfinal between Nigeria’s Patrick Ocheme (6-1) and Guinea’s Mohamed Camara (5-2-1), two of West Africa’s top prospects in what promises to be an explosive encounter. In the co-main event, Angola’s Shido Boris Esperanca (9-1), riding the momentum of a thrilling debut victory, takes on Gambia’s seasoned Ibrahima Mané (14-5) in a gripping Welterweight showdown. Additional action-packed bouts will be announced soon.
Doors open at 17h00, with the first fight scheduled for 18h00.
