Tourist Attractions in Lesotho

  • The Maluti Mountains are within an hour’s drive from the Lesotho Sun hotel and offer guests a vast number of interesting and invigorating activities. In winter, the snow-capped mountains create magical surroundings, while the summer months present guests with the perfect conditions for hiking and pony trekking.

    If you’re the kind of person who enjoys adventure, there are a number of things to do in Lesotho that can be arranged via the hotel reception, or are in close proximity to the hotel:

    • Hikes, pony treks, quad biking, fishing and 4 x 4 adventures can be arranged and are especially enjoyable in the beautiful Maluti Mountains
    • The Maseru Golf Club is open seven days a week. Guests of Maseru Sun and Lesotho Sun are welcome to play for a nominal fee
    • The Lesotho Co-operative Handicrafts Centre is the perfect place to find a handmade gift for a loved one
    • As with the above, Thorkild Hand Weaving and Moteng Weavers each provide opportunities for visitors to buy high-quality and well-designed traditional Lesotho products
    • Kome Cave Village in Sefikeng was once home to a group of cannibals – quite an interesting and strange abode to visit
    • Archaeological Sites - fossilised footprints of dinosaurs have been uncovered at various sites in Lesotho, including Qalo in Butha-Buthe, Morija, Masitise, Subeng Stream and Tsikoane in Leribe
