  • Welcome Centre As the name implies, this is where the Sun City Welcome begins for both day visitors and guests arriving by bus and car. There are Welcome Centre Guest Relations Officers to assist and outline some of the services available at the resort, including the entertainment in the Valley of Waves, make restaurant bookings and any special promotions. Arriving guests are transported by courtesy bus to their hotels. The Welcome Centre is equipped with telephone booths, maps of Sun City Resort as well as vending machines offering cold drinks and snacks. There are a number of lockers with toilet and shower facilities for both men and women, for which a nominal charge is made. A baby changing station is also available at the ladies and gents toilets. There are television monitors carrying news of resort activities. This fantastic golfing paradise has become the location for the Nedbank Golf Challenge year after year and is as much a part of the tradition as the tournament itself. This golf course is an 18 hole, par 72 walking course, with a 5km running trail along the course. The Gary Player Country Club incorporates a Pro Shop and a fully equipped health club and spa of superlative standards. The club itself overlooks the magnificent stretches of fairways and greens, creating the perfect space from which to enjoy the Nedbank Golf Challenge. Patrons should note that bookings are essential.   • The Lost City Country Club Some ten years after the completion of the Gary Player Country Club, the popularity of the Sun City Resort and its many attractions demanded that another golf course be built. Again Gary Player was commissioned to lay out the course, his challenge being to create a very different golfing experience. The Lost City Country Club includes a Pro Shop, driving range as well as a restaurant and bar. Locker rooms and showers are available for the golfers.   • The Lost City Golf Course The Lost City Golf Course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities, designed by Gary Player. Changes in elevation is just one of this desert-style golf course’s features, another is its series of lakes, which separates the ninth and finishing hole. The par-three 13th, features a green constructed in the shape of the African continent, which is bordered by a pond, home to several large Nile crocodiles. The golfer can chose whether to tackle the course from its championship tees, the standard markers, or forward tees. Even playing the shortest route presents a fascinating test, as the approaches to the greens, protected by the trademark Player bunkers, demand careful judgment. If, as many golf course critics maintain, a great layout should test every one of the 14 clubs, the Lost City passes the acid test with flying colours.   • Valley of Waves The Valley of Waves is the central feature of The Lost City  at the Sun City Resort . It is one of the most advanced water parks in the world, dominated by the Roaring Lagoon, a 6 500-square metre (7560-square yards) wave pool with a palm-fringed beach. There are a variety of adventures waiting to be discovered and enjoyed here, with a little something for everyone. All resort residents enter the park free of charge by presenting their resident cards, but day visitors are more than welcome and can gain entrance by paying a nominal entrance fee to the park.
